We aim to achieve this by presenting a vibrant celebration of traditional and contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, art, dance and music building social cohesion leading to social change.

ABOUT THE SPIRIT FESTIVAL

The Spirit Festival is South Australia's premier Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander event. The Spirit Festival celebrates the rich diversity of the country's First Nations Peoples' culture across a range of artforms, cultural demonstrations, workshops and forums. The Spirit Festival promotes to all South Australian's the range of artistic and cultural knowledge and skills that Aboriginal people contribute to the cultural fabric of South Australia and in doing so increase intra, interstate and international tourism opportunities.

The 2011-12 Spirit Festival is funded by Arts SA and is a Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute event.

The Spirit Festival was a Social Inclusion Unit event 2008 - 2011.
